Using the campus map
| An interactive campus map |
Along with the new Web site of Universität Karlsruhe, we have also established an interactive campus map. It allows you to zoom in and out and move the displayed section. It is based on the printed map you know from campus, which means that it is identical to what is displayed on University grounds. In addition, the interactive campus map contains lists of the lecture halls, institutes, and other facilities. You can select an item to highlight the corresponding building on the map and see specific information on that building as well as links to further information (if available).
How to use the campus map on your own Website
You can call up the campus map via a variable so that it loads down and displays a certain building in medium zoom mode. All buildings visible on the map have a number assigned to them (e.g. "20.21" for the computing center). You simply attach this building ID to the URL by using a "id" variable, e.g.:
http://www.uni-karlsruhe.de/fs/Uni/info/campusplan/index.php?id=20.21
This means that to use the map on your own Web site, you only need to replace the "20.21" of the above example with your own building number and place a link with this URL on your Web site.
